Court Reporter Firm Registration and Renewal 2026-2027

Per MCL 600.1492 (2), all in-state and out-of-state court reporting/recording firms are required to register annually with the State Court Administrative Office if they wish to provide services to Michigan Courts or to provide deposition services in Michigan.

To maintain the registration credential, the firm/company is required to:

• Annually renew its registration
• Annually submit a list of the names of any firms and/or reporters/recorders you are employed or subcontracted by.  Include the firm/reporter/recorder name, city, phone number and firm/reporter i.d. number if known.
• Annually submit a list of all court reporting firms and/or reporters/recorders with whom you work, whether they are employees, subcontractors, or other court reporting agencies you may "partner" with.  Include the reporter/recorder/firm names, city, phone numbers, and firm/reporter/recorder certification numbers (if known)
