Interpreter Firm Registration Renewal and Reinstatement

All foreign language interpreter firms are required to register annually with the State Court Administrative Office if they wish to offer their services in Michigan courts.

To maintain the registration credential, the firm/company is required to:

  • Annually renew its registration and submit a roster of interpreters that states their name, language(s) spoken, and their registration status - certified or qualified;

  • Affirm the interpreters employed or contracted by the firm have read and agree to uphold the Code of Professional Conduct for Foreign Language Court Interpreters in Michigan Courts;

  • Affirm the interpreters employed or contracted by the firm comply with the certification/qualification requirements of the State Court Administrative Office

All foreign language interpreter firms are required to register annually with the State Court Administrative Office if they wish to offer their services in Michigan courts.  Late registration renewals (after December 31 of the current renewal period) and reinstatement of a registration that has been expired for more than one renewal period must be approved by the Foreign Language Board of Review.

The firm/company is required to:

  • Annually renew its registration and submit a roster of interpreters that states their name, language(s) spoken, and their registration status - certified or qualified;

  • Affirm the interpreters employed or contracted by the firm have read and agree to uphold the "Code of Professional Conduct for Foreign Language Court Interpreters in Michigan Courts";

  • Affirm the interpreters employed or contracted by the firm comply with the certification/qualification requirements of the State Court Administrative Office
